The best way to know the cryptic parts of island, that are approached easily is only by the sea. Ideal departure time 10 a.m. Proposed place of departure: Kapsali. We will use marine ship. We will go to Eastern. After we will pass the Cape Grossa , we meet the first creek in which we will stop for bathroom. It is the small beach Kyriakoulou. Not having access to road network, the beach is deserted and we are the only visitors.

Let 's enjoy our quietness! Later we enter again in our ship and continue perimetrically. Pass the beach of Chalkos , the capes Gaidaros and Kapello and precisely afterwards we are getting in the closed creek of Vroulea, that there is a very small sandy beach. With a mask we can swim and be entranced by the bottom of creek. Many fishes that swim in the waters are seeking the one who appreciates the marine taste! Our small trip continues passing Fyrri Ammos and Komponada beaches till we lead to Vlychada beach, a few metres before the famous beach of Kaladi .

The overnight stay on this beach is the best idea, but another time, because for today we have not finished. We will leave Kaladi, Paleopolis and Avlemonas and we approach the Dragonares islets. The Small Dragonara was a holy place in the classic years, where the seamen offered oblations to the gods in order to continue safely their travel.The Kytherian sea is very wild, mostly in the winter. We are in the eastern part of island and we will pass the coasts of Diakofti, Agia Pelagia in order to lead to Fourni, precisely afterwards the Makria Pounta cape and little before the Platia Ammos beach.

It is 3 p.m. and we will cook the fishes, we will eat and drink local red wine. The Spathi cape is waiting for us. We get ready and leave. Over the Spathi cape we will see the English lighthouse of Moudari and the signal-house. Let's take photos. We are in the northern place of the island. We go down the western coasts by the sun litting up the colourful and steep mountain sides.

After the Armenopetra islet we will meet the small beach Ocheles. Next, we meet the Agios Eleftherios cove and the Lykodimou beach, a good time for afternoon bathroom. We're going to the Mylopotamos bight. It is a little after Koufos Gialos and Fokospilies (=seal cave). Do not approach the seals if they are there, maybe they are afraid and be wounded by the violent escape. The Mesa Nisi and Exo Nisi islets are the ideal fishing points in the Mylopotamos bight. We go to the end of bight, in the cape Limnionas and the homonym beach. We will pass the cape and will meet the small port of Limnaria , the Xeronisi islet, the Lydia islet (or Nisi tis Panagias), the stroggyli and Karavonisi islets. We've just seen in front of us the Chytra islet. The known islet we can see it from Kapsali and Chora.

We approach, to the western, while the sun has begun to lower enough. We enter in the cave of Chytra by the ship. The sunlight does not enter the cave, but only through the sun-mirages in the bottom! Fantastic experience. We can swim in the cave water. It's time to get back to Kapsali.

You can also see other points of the coasts, to stop in different beaches, many of them are ideal for overnight stay. Ask the local seamen guidance. It's also good, to pay a visit to the Elafonisos and Antikythera islands for a daylong excursion by ship.
